![]() Don't bother with the arctic until you've got everything else and have enough spare influence to grab several islands. Prioritize the new world first, the cape second, and enbesa 3rd. ![]() ![]() Advice is to rush claiming the old world islands you want by buying the steel from archie, and then to rush artisans so you can make it to the new regions before they do. I'm only saying it's definitely possible. Not trying to flex here or ♥♥♥♥ like that. All this on just shy of expert difficulty, and all of them islands I beat the ai to so I got priority pick. In my current game, which is only the 2nd attempt I've made, I've got 4 old world islands, 4 in the cape, 7 new world, 4 in the arctic plus 2 gas plateaus, and 8 in enbesa. I have to argue with you on this claim here. Just rush steel beam purchase from archibald and claim the best island as soon as you can, if you can. Originally posted by kgmi:I have observed the harder and medium AIs and its impossible to keep up with Island claiming early on. The other AIs have trouble with the aggression of hard pirates i find. I play with hard pirates against medium+ AIs because they will harass and slow down the others while they also fight each other, i always try and be neutral with the pirates so they slow down the AIs expansion. Discvoer them early, they will ask you every time if YOU are ok with them claiming new islands, the game even shows which islands they want to claim, and they never expand into new areas until you do too. If you want easy going AIs, take Bente and Qing. ![]() Some of them will always be faster than you with islands in the New Areas, they dont actually need to buy Steel Beams to make outposts, they just cheat the stuff in. Their expansion is scripted, they cheat in resources in order to auto expand after a certain time has past. I have observed the harder and medium AIs and its impossible to keep up with Island claiming early on. ![]()
